Grade 10 Tennis Assignment

Your first term PE assignment is to investigate and report on one aspect of Tennis.

Choose one:

  • History of Tennis
  • The life and career of a Professional Tennis player
  • Tennis terminology
  • Tennis skills and techniques
  • Tennis rules of the game
  • Tennis strategy and or tactics
  • Famous Tennis tournament
  • How to get involved in Tennis in Finland
  • Instructional guide / video for beginning Tennis players
  • Benefits of playing Tennis regularly (physical, social, etc.)
  • Other (with Ms. Quinn’s approval.)

Once you have chosen an aspect of Tennis that interests you, decide how to present what you find in an interesting way.  This assignment can be completed using a number of different media.  Here are some examples of media that you can use:

  • Notebook / Journal
  • Photos
  • Video
  • Sketches / Drawings
  • Blog / Website
  • Slideshow
  • Other

Ms. Quinn will chat with you next week (September 21st) to discuss how you plan to present your handbook.

The FINAL date for submitting your handbook for grading is Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Uses a range of terminology accurately and appropriately in some situations.

Demonstrates a good knowledge of principles, concepts, strategies, techniques and rules related to the physical education topic or activity.

Uses this knowledge to analyse and solve problems in familiar and some unfamiliar situations.

 

7-8

 

Uses a wide range of physical education terminology accurately and appropriately in most situations.

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of principles, concepts, strategies, techniques and rules related to the physical education topic or activity.

Uses this knowledge wisely and effectively to analyse and solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar situations.
